California Impressionist Painting, Seal Beach, California

This painting is of a scene in Seal Beach, where they let dogs run free on the beach. You can see a dog running up the sand on the left side of the painting.

Dinkey Creek Campground - California Impressionist painting

Here's a painting I did Plein Air while I was camping at Dinkey Creek, which is a wonderful campground in the Sierra National Forest, near Shaver Lake. If you ever have the chance to camp there I highly recommend it; the campsites are great, and there's this really nice river (Dinkey Creek) which runs alongside the campground and you can walk down to it and hike along the river for a while, or just sit on the rocks and watch the water flowing by.

Secret Garden - California Impressionist painting

This painting was painted Plein Air at Descanso Gardens. There's kind of a secret garden there, it's not really that secret but it just feels kind of private and secluded when you walk into it. There's a vegetable and herb garden in the center of it, which is what the painting is of.

Descanso Rose Garden - California Impressionist painting

Here's another painting from Descanso Gardens. The roses are in full bloom this time of year.

Descanso Gardens

This California Impressionist painting shows a view of the fountain at Descanso Gardens, and the lovely rose bush nearby. Descanso Gardens is one of my favorite places to paint. The rose garden there is an especially nice place to setup an easel and spend a few hours painting, and the roses have been spectacular this year.
